Rapper Wayne Carter also known as Lil Wayne has been sentenced to a year in prison today at the New York Supreme Court due to possession of an illegal weapon in 2007. After his sentencing the rapper was taken immediately into custody, handcuffs and all. It's reported that Lil Wayne maybe able to leave early due to good behavior.
Earlier this month Lil Wayne was unable to get sentenced due to emergency teeth surgery and it was postponed. His lawyers plan to ask for protective custody for the rappers safety and health after the dental surgeries.
